The Gift Of Life

Cathy has been relocated to her new digs. It is a nice flat, but not much of a view. It looks identical Cathy's previous home. Hopefully she will be moving out of this room and onto the medical observation unit very soon.

While Cathy was being moved, one of the heart/lung transplant coordinators happened by. She had an interesting story. She is currently working with a patient, a young child, who has been in the hospital for over eight months. This child received the heart from Cathy's donor. One gift has helped at least two families.

Cathy has settled in to her new surroundings (that's pretty easy to do when it looks identical to her previous room). Several of the doctors and surgeons have all said that by the third day, the pain from the incision should start decreasing. Today was the third day, so we are looking forward to the better days ahead.

It's so exciting to hear about Cathy's progress after the long awaited lung. I can barely believe it happened, as I'm sure Cathy and you, David, can't either.

If she can stand a squeeze, give her a big hug from me ... maybe a kiss might be better.

Love, Norma

Hey Jo :)
No worries if the view doesn't show
too much.
Soon you'll be walking all over the place and be able to see
so many good things :)
I do hope you're resting. Especially that left shoulder where it is sore.
You will be needing to use it
in the near future when you are able to call me :)
Until then, I'll just wait.
Cuz this bloggin' is pretty
great too !!!

Love you much,
Jami Lynne x/o

Sounds like you are already settled in your new room. Don't get too comfortable, we are praying for the medical observation unit.

That is really cool Cathy's donor saved 2 lives!

Goodnight ...

Sounds like day 3 of recovery was successful with such a long stint in the cardiac chair and on the trach collar! Perhaps it's all part of the Lord's perfect timing that you won't be starting post-transplant PT until day 4 (or later). I know you need to regain strength and mobility, but I'm sure that God's been using this time to heal those tissues and restore you.

Hope you have a great nurse tonight..I know it can make all the difference. Nurse David, I hope you're getting some sleep even if your patient isn't or you'll be of no use to her! Wink, wink! Wish I could be there to take a shift!!!! I'm missing you all terribly!

Sweet dreams!
Love,
BonBon
